Relinquished and its Eyes Restrict Fusions stand out for being powerless at first, but they draw strength from whichever monster they assimilate.
Like many popular monsters, Relinquished did gain support cards, though they are comparatively few as of this article's publication. Thousand-Eyes Restrict and the other Fusion Material, Thousand-Eyes Idol, were released one month after Relinquished was. The rest of its support, however, took over 15 years to be released.A Link-1 monster, Relinquished Anima, is only superficially related to the original Relinquished. It does not support the Eyes Restrict monsters, nor requires them in any way. Strangely, this archetype has yet to receive Illusion support, despite being thematically appropriate for such cards. It also becomes Thousand-Eyes Idol to open up Thousand-Eyes Restrict plays if a Relinquished is available to banish. Speaking of which, this card automatically equips the resulting Eyes Restrict Fusion with an opposing monster if it gets used this way.Interestingly, this card does not need to be destroyed to revive a monster. It is possible to use it as a Synchro or Link Material to yield the same effect. This tactic makes ramming a powerless Relinquished or Eyes Restrict into an opposing monster somewhat more practical.
